So I've been told for a while now that I should start a blog to regale the crazy situations one finds oneself in, if one happens to be me. But seeing how I'm now old and boring I thought I just use this as a journal of sorts to be able to look back and remember this journey I've taken. Because I have been reminded lately just what a journey this life is. Decisions are difficult and change can be scary but nothing on this Earth ever stays the same so ones just gotta go with it, am I right?
So at this moment, I am trying to decide what the best course of action could possibly be. Knowing when to "jump" as it were is absolutely frightening to me. With the endless replay going on in my head of possible scenarios of what could happen good or bad, it is quite the anxious experience for me to make a decision and more importantly to act on it. But I came across a quote today that I actually discovered some time ago but rediscovered, and I've decided to use it as my new motto. From the amazing book the alchemist, by Paulo Coelho, which is about this young shepherd boy who dreams of a treasure and who goes on an amazing adventure to find the treasure but finds so much more than that.
But the sheep had taught him something even more important: that there
was a language in the world that everyone understood, a language the boy
had used throughout the time he was trying to improve things at the shop.
It was the language of enthusiasm, of things accomplished with love and
purpose, and as part of a search for something believed in and desired.
Tangier was no longer a strange city, he felt that, just as he had conquered
this place, he could conquer the world.
I just love that phrase "of things accomplished with love and purpose", and I think that's a good way to live life. So hopefully I'll be on a new adventure soon with lots of new stories to tell but for now I'll leave you with just one more quote from the alchemist,
He still had some doubts about the decision he had made, but he was
able to understand one thing: making a decision was only the beginning
of things. When someone makes a decision he is really diving into
a strong current that will carry him to places he never dreamed
of when he first made the decision.
